About Us – Villa Carmen

Preserving History, Nature, and Community

Villa Carmen Pools & Beach is a family-owned seaside retreat in Mt. View, Mariveles, Bataan, deeply rooted in the history of the region. For generations, it has been a landmark for travelers, a gathering place for the community, and an entryway to one of the Philippines' most significant historical sites—Corregidor Island.

A glimpse into the post-war era at Villa Carmen, where Don Luis J. Reyes, the family patriarch, enjoys a day of fishing with his American friends.

Our story is one of heritage, resilience, and renewal. Once a thriving destination, Villa Carmen saw decades of change, from the bustling era of tourism to the quiet years following the closure of ferry services to Corregidor. Recognizing our role in both local tourism and historical preservation, we revitalized Villa Carmen as a hub for history, leisure, and sustainability.

A Gateway to Corregidor’s History

Villa Carmen has long served as the closest access point to Corregidor Island, a place where history is preserved through its fortifications, tunnels, and war-torn landscapes. Our deep connection to Corregidor is more than geographical—it is woven into our identity. Through Corregidor Tours by Villa Carmen, we continue this legacy by making historical tourism more accessible while ensuring that the significance of Corregidor is honored and shared with generations to come.

Sustainability & Community Engagement

At the heart of Villa Carmen’s mission is a commitment to responsible tourism and environmental conservation. We believe that our presence along Bataan’s coastline comes with a responsibility—to protect the natural environment, support the local community, and promote sustainable tourism practices.

  • Preserving Nature – Our operations focus on reducing waste, conserving water, and maintaining the pristine beauty of our beachfront. We actively seek eco-friendly solutions to ensure that our impact on the environment remains minimal.

  • Supporting the Local Economy – As a family-run business, we prioritize hiring locally, sourcing materials from nearby businesses, and reinvesting in the community. By creating jobs and fostering economic activity, we contribute to the growth of Mariveles and its people.

  • Educational & Heritage Tourism – Through Corregidor Tours by Villa Carmen, we aim to deepen visitors’ understanding of Philippine history, bridging the past with the present. Our guided tours ensure that the legacy of Corregidor is not only remembered but also respected.

Beyond a Destination

Villa Carmen is more than just a place to visit—it is a place to connect. Whether through its history, natural beauty, or sense of community, it stands as a reminder that tourism can be meaningful, sustainable, and deeply rooted in cultural heritage.

As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to our founding values: preserving history, protecting nature, and uplifting the local community. We invite guests not just to experience Villa Carmen but to become part of its story.
